Peninnah Schram is an internationally known storyteller, teacher, author and recording artist. She is Professor of Speech and Drama at Stern College of Yeshiva University in New York City, and is the author of many books of Jewish folktales and a CD. She is a recipient of the prestigious Covenant Award for Outstanding Jewish Educator (1995) and has also been awarded the National Storytellers Network 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award “for sustained and exemplary contributions to storytelling in America.”
Peninnah is integral part of the program “The Minstrel and the Storyteller” through which she and Gerard bring to audiences Jewish stories of wit and wisdom. They have materialized their collaboration in an homonymous CD.
Peninnah wrote the foreword to Gerard’s Sephardic Songbook for Voice and Guitar.
